It had been a cold, blustery day of ice and snow here. But I’ve been travelling all day and finally arrived home just wanting something crisp and refreshing.
- 2 oz Tequila Blanco
- 1 oz Grapefruit juice
- 1/2 oz Gomme syrup
- 1/2 oz Curacao
- 1/4 oz Ancho Reyes Liqueur
Shake all the ingredients with ice, then strain into a tumbler filled with ice.
Ancho Reyes chilli liqueur has a warming heat rather than a fierce burn. It’s mellow instead of intense. I couldn’t find any white grapefruit so had to use red, but it would be a better drink with the sharpness of the proper ingredient. The recipe comes from this syrup website. I don’t have access to the products, so I can’t comment on those, but the drink is really good.
