This drink was created by Tony Conigliaro in 2001 at the Isola bar in London, England. The name apparently comes from a customer requesting a twist on a daiquiri, and when tasting it exclaiming “Oh, gosh!”. It’s a nice story, but it sounds a bit trite to be true. I’m a cynic though, and I’m glad there aren’t drinks named after some of my initial exclamations.
- 1½ oz Light rum
- 1 oz Triple sec
- ½ oz Lime juice
- ¼ oz Sugar syrup
This wasn’t as tart or crisp as a daiquiri, which is to be expected. The orange liqueur gives it a lushness. This is one that will always have a place on my summer rotation
